When staying at a ryokan, should I choose a plan with two meals included?
If this is your first time staying at a ryokan, or if you do not want to go out at night, a plan with two meals included is recommended.
Dinner at a ryokan is often a very Japanese dining experience, such as kaiseki cuisine.
Depending on the area, there may be very few restaurants open during dinner time, so if you are staying at a ryokan, a two-meal plan is generally recommended.
However, many ryokan have difficulty accommodating vegetarian meals. In that case, it may also be a good option to choose a breakfast-only plan or a room-only plan and simply enjoy the experience of sleeping on a futon in a tatami room.
